Projects:
As principal investigator
- Research grant from MSD Avenir Foundation (2018-2023): ADIMetabone project around the « Functional regulation of bone marrow adipocytes: towards a link between metabolic diseases and bone defects». This transversal project aimed at deciphering 1) the importance of chronic exposure to high glucose concentration of Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stromal cells-derived adipocytes with regard with their ROS and adipokine production, their extracellular matrix synthesis and impact on osteogenesis; 2) the relevance of lowering glycaemia in the prediabetic model of ovariectomized mice regarding Bone Marrow Adiposity, bone content and quality; and 3) how the phenotype of femoral Bone Marrow Adipocytes is associated with metabolic parameters in post-menopausal patients with knee prosthetic surgery, in comparison with subcutaneous adipocytes (Clinical protocol MEDADIPO, gov ID: NCT03678831), in collaboration with Dr T. RHARASS (postdoctoral fellow), Dr L. ENTZ (doctoral project), Lille Hospital [CRB, Dr S. PUTMAN and Dr J. DARTUS (Orthopaedic surgeons)], and MABLab members [Dr G. FALGAYRAC (Raman analyses), Dr D. LETERME (experimental surgery), V. GAUTHIER (animal experiments), S. DELPLACE (Histology), F. MIELLOT (X-ray micro-computed tomography), Pr G. PASQUIER (Orthopaedic surgeon), Pr B. CORTET (Rheumatologist)].
- BQR from ULCO (2017): NAPROT Imaging for the acquisition of an Imager 600RGB (Amersham) to analyse proteins and nucleic acids following fluorescent labelling, ECL and colorimetry.
- Research grants from the French Society of Mineralized Tissue Biology (SFBTM) and ULCO (2013) for the training of S. DELPLACE to bone and bone marrow Immuno-Histo-Chemistry (IHC).
- Research grant from the French Society of Rheumatology SFR (2012): « Secretions of bone marrow adipocytes in alterations of bone remodelling of the ovariectomy model», which aimed at characterizing the phenotype of Bone Marrow Adipocytes isolated from long bones of ovariectomized mice in comparison with isolated visceral and subcutaneous adipocytes, with MABLab members [Dr D. LETERME (experimental surgery), S. DELPLACE (Histology), A. RESONNET and F. MIELLOT (animal experiments).]
As co-investigator
- Research grant from the French Society of Rheumatology SFR (2016-2020) in collaboration with Pr X. HOUARD (PI, INSERM UMR_S938. Hôpital Saint-Antoine, Paris) and Pr M.H. LAFAGE-PROUST (INSERM 1059, Faculté de médecine, St Etienne): « Involvement of Bone Marrow Adipose Tissue in bone homeostasis during age-associated diseases », which aimed at assessing the involvement of Bone Marrow Adipocytes in the development of osteoarthritis in comparison of osteoporosis through various mouse and cell models and clinical samples.
- BQR from ULCO (2011) in collaboration with Pr Christophe CHAUVEAU for the acquisition of a DEXA equipment (Lunar Piximus) for the determination of fat, lean and mineral masses of mice.
